Frequently Asked Questions
Is C260 brass suitable for marine applications?
Yes. C260 has excellent corrosion resistance in marine environments. However, for severe saltwater exposure, C280 Muntz metal or naval brass is recommended.
Is C260 brass RoHS compliant?
Yes. C260 is lead-free (70% Cu, 30% Zn) and fully RoHS compliant. It is the standard alternative to C360 where lead-free specifications are required.
What is the difference between C260 and C360 brass?
C260 is lead-free with superior ductility and cold-working properties. C360 contains 3% lead for better machinability but is not RoHS compliant. Choose C260 for forming operations and C360 for high-volume machining.
